Cath Lab Technologist NMC Royal Hospital Abu Dhabi

A Cath Lab Technologist at NMC Royal Hospital is responsible for performing cardiology Cath exams and Electrophysiology / Ablation studies at a technical level. An incumbent assumes responsibility for the safe and proper operation of cardiology equipment including equipment within the Cath lab. He / she utilizes equipment and accessories and employs techniques and procedures to protect the patient, self, and others from unnecessary radiation.

Responsibilities of Cath Lab Technologist

  • Performs general office duties including answering phones, scheduling, filing, and maintaining patient records.
  • Actively participates in the training of other Cath Lab personnel.
  • Recognizes that continuing education is vital to maintaining and advancing the profession.
  • Keeps cardiology skills current demonstrating evidence of continuing education to include department meetings, individualized learning opportunities from cardiologists, and related classes.
  • Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements.
  • Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities.
  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
  • Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
  • Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Cath Lab Technologist at NMC Healthcare:

  • Post Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiac Technology.
  • 1 year of Internship in Cath lab Technology.
  • Current license in country of origin with HAAD license to practice in U.A.E.
  • Two years of recent related work experience as a Cardiology Tech, Interventional/Special Procedure Technologist (or equivalent).

Job Skills

  • Excellent command of oral and written English.
  • Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to adjust to group practice in an industrial environment.
