Category Manager Ecommerce GMG Dubai

As a Category Manager at GMG in GMG Building, Umm Hurair Rd, Oud Metha, Dubai, UAE, job holder will be responsible for maximizing revenue, enhancing the customer shopping experience and staying at the forefront of industry trends to drive sustainable growth and profitability for the organization. Candidate will lead a team of Assistant Category Managers. Candidate’s primary objective will be to drive the growth and success of the category business ensuring alignment with overall digital and omnichannel strategies. Job holder will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, content, CS, technology and finance, to achieve targets. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 13000-25000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Category Manager Ecommerce

  • Onsite: Manage the store front for your respective category.
  • Understand customer intent and capitalize on this by working with content teams/creative team to ensure the right products are pushed.
  • Work with brands to establish monetization plans/marketing investments/visibility plans/JBPs.
  • Inventory Management & Assortment Planning: Work closely with the inventory management team to optimize stock levels, reduce overstock or understock situations and minimize inventory holding cost.
  • Implement effective replenishment strategies and demand forecasting for the category.
  • Plan seasonal assortment for each category
  • Pricing and Promotion: Determine pricing strategies for products within the category to maximize profitability and competitiveness.
  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns to drive sales and meet revenue targets.
  • Monitor and analyze pricing data and competitor pricing strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, content and operations to ensure seamless execution of category strategies.
  • Work closely with the Product managers to ensure the issues/bugs are reported and resolved and also identify features to help user experience.
  • Plan and execute campaigns in collaboration with marketing, content and catalog teams
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to gather insights into category performance and customer behavior.
  • Create and present regular reports on category performance, sales trends and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Present in weekly trade meetings; an overview of business performance as well as suitable data driven actions points to drive business metrics
  • Track key metrics such as GPV, UPT, Conversion, AOV

Requirements for Role of Category Manager Ecommerce

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 4+ years experience in a similar ecommerce role.
  • Proven experience in category management or a related role in e-commerce.
