Job Description

Category Manager in Butchery at GMG will be responsible for managing the butchery category, including procurement, pricing strategies, assortment planning, and supplier management to ensure the best value and quality for their customers. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the butchery sector, market trends, and customer preferences. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 10000-25000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Category Manager

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales, profitability, and market share for the butchery section.
  • Identify customer trends and preferences to optimize the product assortment.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and high-quality products.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing wastage.
  • Analyze sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design promotions and campaigns that enhance category performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards specific to butchery products.

Requirements for Role of Category Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience in category management, procurement, or a similar role within the butchery in grocery retail sector.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of butchery products, market trends, and customer needs.
