Job Purpose of A Cashier

• Responsible for counting money, processing transactions and providing excellent customer service.
• The Cashier will also be responsible to maintain cleanliness throughout the area and correctly organizing cash registers.

Job Duties of A Cashier

• Responsible for handling customer transactions in a confident, thoughtful and organized manner.
• Assist customers with purchases and answer questions they may have.
• Register all the sales correctly.
• Count cash in cash drawer and ensure it is correct to the total sales on the register.
• Receive and process accurate payment for purchases.
• Ensure all items that are on sale or have discounts are properly discounted at the register.
• Keep register area tidy and presentable at all times.
• Maintain accurate and complete cash balances throughout the shift.
• Properly record transactions and ensures all customer contact information is correct.
• Promote loyalty program and provide customers with membership cards.
• Resolve customer issues and concerns in a professional manner.

Qualification & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of customer service or cashier experience.

Skills & Knowledge Required

• Basic cash handling procedures.
• Maintain calm composure in stressful situations.
• Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a high volume retail environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and handle the pressure of a fast paced work environment.
• Computer literacy and basic knowledge of POS systems.
