Job Description
Egis is on the lookout for an experienced Carpenter to join the team in Dubai. It’s a full-time, permanent position based on active project sites around the city. The job covers a mix of tasks — from cutting timber for door frames to setting up formwork for concrete. Some days you’ll be installing cabinets, other days repairing wooden structures already in place. You’ll need to read plans, work with a variety of tools, and keep safety at the forefront of your mind. This role suits someone with a solid carpentry background who can handle different site conditions and still produce neat, reliable work. Eight years or more of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Read plans or basic sketches to figure out what needs building or fixing.
- Measure, cut, and fit timber for doors, stairs, frames, and other wooden structures.
- Install trims, panels, and fittings so everything lines up properly.
- Tackle repairs when woodwork is worn or damaged.
- Keep tools in good working order — both hand and power types.
- Build formwork for concrete when needed.
- Check timber before use to avoid defects that slow the job down.
- Follow safety rules on-site and keep work areas tidy.
- Work alongside supervisors, engineers, and other trades.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
- High school level education or equivalent.
- A carpentry trade qualification would help, but it isn’t a must.
Experience
Around 8 years in carpentry work, preferably in construction.
Skills
- Good with a tape measure and accurate cutting.
- Confident in handling a variety of tools.
- Can follow instructions from drawings or site managers.
- Organised approach to tasks.
- Works well with a team.
Knowledge
- Different wood types and where to use them.
- Standard joinery and finishing methods.
- Local building regulations.
- How to prepare formwork for concrete.
- General site safety awareness.
