Job Description

GEMS World Academy Dubai is looking for an innovative Career Counsellor to join their successful team from August 2024 to 2025. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in effective provision of counselling and guidance to students. While experience in the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is preferred, outstanding Career Counsellors from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine passion for working in a non selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement. The selected candidate will be responsible to help clients identify their interests, skills, and values. Utilize assessments, personality tests, and in depth discussions.

Job Requirements of Career Counsellor

The requirements for the job role of Career Counsellor are as under:

  • A certified professional qualification at degree level, such as BA, BS or equivalent specialism in Counselling.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a School/Career Counsellor, ideally within an IB curriculum school, however, this is not mandatory.
  • The experience, personality and educational philosophy to continue to drive the education agenda at this flagship GEMS IB World School, catering for students from over 100 countries.
  • Aspiration to work in a world class school with significant opportunities for career development and advancement.
