Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking a qualified Cardiac OR Staff Nurse in UAE. This position is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of evidence based nursing procedures and practices to patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit. This position is also responsible for demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development and psychosocial needs of patients being treated.

Duties as Cardiac OR Staff Nurse

• Completes timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needs.
• Provides direct care and evaluates outcomes, incorporating principles of family centered care.
• Monitors and documents patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions.
• Assesses educational needs of patients and significant others considering cultural needs and other special concerns.
• Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and/or significant as appropriate.
• Validates and documents patient and family understand of teaching.
• Administers prescribed medications in accordance with approved policies and protocols, utilizing barcode scanning.
• Carries out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material procedures.
• Works with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values.
• Communicates with patients, families, communities, and other health professionals in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team approach to maintaining health and treatment of disease.
• Communicates with patients, families, visitors and vendors in a courteous, helpful manner, endeavoring to resolve issues at the unit/ department level.
• Communicates patient clinical information clearly and accurately, documenting pertinent information in medical record and ensuring complete documentation of patient care.
• Engages patient and family in hand-off of clinical information and planning daily plan of care as appropriate.

Education & Experience of Cardiac OR Staff Nurse

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an general surgery/ operating room setting.
• Experience requirement is waived for graduates of UAE Nursing colleges or universities after completion of an approved internship.

Certification & Licensure

• Valid and current national license.
• BLS  from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must obtain within 3 months of employment ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty from AHA or an equivalent organization; or must obtain within 6 months of employment.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
