About the Role
The Cardiac Nurse Coordinator is a registered nurse who functions as an expert nurse clinician and resource in the area of cardiac specialty. Furthermore, this role is responsible for overseeing clinical care and nursing activity, supporting the running of specific clinical programs, and contributing to program improvement and expansion. Moreover, the coordinator works closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-focused care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assessments, plan of care, and evaluation for the cardiac patient population
- Coordinate and document patient care utilizing the EPIC system and nursing templates
- Assist in coordinating patient care journeys from outpatient clinic through discharge and recovery
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols related to cardiac specialty
- Function as a cardiac service liaison nurse working with the multidisciplinary team
- Provide specialist support and education to patients, families, and nursing staff
- Contribute to clinical quality outcome indicators including CAUTI, HAPI, CLABSI, and Falls
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain records and data collection for program development tracking
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Post-graduate or Certification in cardiac nursing specialty is preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in cardiac specialty practice
- Valid and current national nursing license is required
- BLS certification required
- Strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in English
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
