Purpose of A Business Process Quality Engineer
- Responsible for unitization of pump packages and includes the functions of proposals, project management, procurement, engineering, fabrication and customer service.
- Responsible for customer satisfaction by getting the facility accredited to ISO 9001 standards.
- Help establish and monitor metrics and procedures for each functional area with a focus on linkage to customer satisfaction.
- Help create competency and training programs and work on continuous improvement projects in areas where gaps are identified.
Duties of A Business Process Quality Engineer
- Provide leadership at the site level to establish and implement a quality management system and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive a culture of quality ‘ownership’ in the organization.
- Manage implementation of Corporate procedures, training and assistance on QMS related issues.
- Internal audits and assistance in maintenance and / or implementation of API Q1 and ISO 9001 certifications, as applicable.
- Establish procedures supporting business objectives of the facility as a whole, and individual departments or functions.
- Strive for continuous improvement in all areas of quality management, assurance and control.
- Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Who Can Apply?
Qualification
- Bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering, materials engineering or industrial engineering.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering related role required.
- Experience managing and implementing at least one QMS system required (ISO 9001, API Q1).
Certification
- ASQ / CQI / equivalent certification desirable.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Knowledge of API or ASME codes.
- Knowledge and experience in statistical problem solving & continuous improvement tools, root cause analysis (5 Why or similar), design of experiments, six sigma, control charts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of inspection and sampling techniques.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials and welding.
- Knowledge of ERP and industry standard quality database systems.
