Responsibilities of Bus Driver
- Safely operate company owned buses and transport passengers to and from designated locations.
- Adhere to established routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure at each stop.
- Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding, disembarking, and answering inquiries.
- Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections of the bus, checking for mechanical issues, cleanliness, and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
- Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating the bus.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors to report any incidents, delays, or maintenance issues.
- Ensure the safety and security of passengers and their belongings while on board the bus.
- Assist passengers with disabilities or functional needs, including operating wheelchair lifts and securing mobility devices.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs as required.
Requirements of Bus Driver
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical stamina and the ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger (P) endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience if 1-2 years as a bus driver or commercial driver preferred.
