GMG is currently hiring experienced and motivated candidate for the job role of Brand Manager in Dubai. The Job holder will be responsible to manage the existing business partners and vendors in collaboration with other functions growing brand market share, focusing on growing brand market share through provision of an effective and innovative product portfolio within the right price and quality in order to drive sales, grow the brands in the respective categories, source new brands given the strategy of the category and business growth plans. Candidate will also responsible for contributing to Business Unit’s overall brand strategy, as well as partnering and maintaining key relationships with principals for brands managed and maximizes sales and profitability.

Responsibilities of Brand Manager

  • Manage existing vendors, aligning on business requirements, OTBs, forecasts, commercials & operations.
  • Sourcing new brands in the respective categories on the basis of business requirements.
  • Align business plans and investments with the brands on the basis of the business plans and forecasts.
  • Handle commercial negotiations with brands with regards to margins, additional support, discounting, marketing, etc.
  • Align with the category managers of each respective brand category on growing the brand and share contribution.
  • Studies trends from historical data around brand/category sales and market research to assist in the overall planning process.
  • Aids in ensuring category profitability KPIs are clearly set and achieved.
  • Responsible for executing defined price strategy for Brands.
  • Manages consumer mapping and is responsible for brand/category consumer segmentation and differentiation.
  • Ensures optimum utilization of customer research information to guide brand/category management decisions, including decisions on the introduction of new products, product assortment, promotion and pricing of products in the store.
  • Collaborates with Retail operations to understand consumer trends, sales figures, etc. to further formulate the business plan for the brand/category.
  • Ensures access to market intelligence through various sources on competition pricing and business and analysis of trends which may impact the Business Unit.
  • Aligns with category managers for proper assortment mix and share of Brands within category.
  • Monitors and analyses business performance by brand sales, sell-out, gross margin and turnover and translates insights into key selling.

Requirements for Role of Brand Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/ Marketing.
  • Master’s degree in Buying and Merchandising.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years (CM) and 5-7 years (SCM) of relevant experience in buying/sourcing in Retail commercial roles, FMCG or Category Management.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of market research techniques and familiarity with market research tools. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate category strategies and plans to stakeholders and understating overseas supply chain specifics, sourcing/buying.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, to analyze and interpret sales data.
  • Knowledge of retail and consumer behavior trends, including e-commerce and digital marketing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
