Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City is presently seeking a Biomedical Technician to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This person is responsible for providing necessary installations, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, calibrations, maintenance, management, training and documentation for all the types of biomedical equipment, devices, networks and systems used in the facility. Responsibilities of Biomedical Technician

• Ensures all equipment received are in working conditions and with adequate documentation.
• Provides maintenance services for the equipment not covered by warranty or services.
• Coordinates repairs or servicing of all required equipment.
• Diagnoses system malfunctions on medical electronic /mechanical devices.
• Repairs and replaces defective parts, testing and re-installing repaired equipment.
• Performs calibration on equipment.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate inventories of biomedical equipment with all relevant details.
• Maintains work orders and document maintenance services.
• Assists asset management department in the documentation of equipment location changes.
• Maintains records of all inspections, tests, maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures update of system to record the movement of equipment from one location to another.
• Provides required information whenever required to the Fixed Asset/ Property Control department/section.
• Maintains track of the inventory of spare parts and updating the system.
• Assists Receiving the new medical equipment and ensuring installation and satisfactory working.
• Coordinates the delivery and training of new equipment with the stakeholders.
• Assesses the safety efficiency and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
• Designs and improves medical diagnostic and clinical instruments, equipment, and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Following are the requirements for the role of Biomedical Technician – Biomedical Engineering at SSMC:

• Graduate of an accredited course resulting in being awarded a diploma or certificate as a Biomedical Technician from an accredited program or equivalent of NLT 2 years duration.
• NLT 2 years of experience in a hospital with documented on-the job Training.
• UAE Nationals: Upon completion of 1 year training.
