Purpose of A Biomedical Engineer
- Performs skilled preventive maintenance tasks on medical equipment.
- This equipment is connected to patients or is used to diagnose disease.
- The equipment handled includes Defibrillators, Cardiac Monitors, Infant Care Centers, Incubators, Infusion Pumps, Audiometers, Electrosurgical Units, Microscopes, Spirometers Dental Anaesthesia Units, etc.
- Perform work on equipment throughout medical facilities including Dental and district clinics.
- Subject to scheduled on call for medical equipment emergencies.
Job Duties of A Biomedical Engineer
- Conducts preventive maintenance checks and inspections by observation and application of tests instrument.
- Advise and assist in the application of instrumentation in clinical environments.Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.
- Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment.Install, adjust, maintain, and / or repair biomedical equipment.
- Performs maintenance repair tasks including disassembly, reassembly and test operation.
- Prepares requisitions for spare parts procurement from stores / manufacturer.
- Analyzes equipments for failures, faults or malfunction based on experience and skill, application of test instrument and reference to technical literature or drawings.
- Prepares and enter data in logs, reports, form and equipment records about inspections, repairs and equipment condition and operation.
Who Can Apply?
Qualification
- Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering .
Experience
- 3 to 5 years experience in a hospital set up.
Knowledge and Skills Desired
- Careful measurement and analysis skills.
- Attentive to details.
- Excellent verbal communication with patients, medical staff, other engineers.
- Excellent command of oral and written English to read and understand technical literature and schematics.
- Knowledge in Arabic is desirable but not essential.
