Job Description

Looking for someone who doesn’t mind staying on their feet and making people feel welcome the second they arrive. This full-time role as a Bellman is based at one of Accor’s properties in the UAE. The job involves helping guests with luggage, showing them around if needed, answering basic questions, and generally being the kind of person people remember because they were helpful and kind. If you’ve worked in a hotel before, great but if not, and you’ve got the right attitude, this might still suit you. You’ll need to be able to carry bags, keep a smile on your face even during long shifts, and talk to guests in a polite, clear way. English is important, and knowing your way around the area will help too.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a warm and respectful attitude.
  • Help with luggage during check-in and check-out.
  • Keep the lobby and entrance areas neat and organized.
  • Answer guest questions or point them in the right direction.
  • Store baggage properly when needed and make sure it’s safe.
  • Help coordinate with other departments if a guest needs something.
  • Be alert to guest needs — sometimes before they ask.
  • Assist with local info, like giving directions or explaining nearby events.
  • Report anything odd or out of place in public areas.
  • Answer the phone when needed and direct calls accordingly.
  • Keep communication flowing with the front desk team.
  • Make sure everything done is in line with hotel safety standards.
  • Stick to the hotel’s uniform and grooming guidelines.
  • Follow up on requests to make sure guests are satisfied.
  • Maintain a polite tone, even during stressful or busy times.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

A hospitality-related certificate or diploma is a plus, but not essential.

Experience

  • No experience required, but past work in hotels, front office, or customer service is helpful.
  • Freshers may apply if they are physically fit and confident talking to guests.

Skills

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Comfortable lifting and carrying luggage.
  • Friendly tone and calm body language.
  • Knows how to stay patient with demanding guests.
  • Can handle a lot happening at once without getting flustered.
  • Basic computer use is a plus (especially for logging details).

Knowledge

  • Familiar with hotel guest flow and basic service etiquette.
  • Understands the layout of the property.
  • Aware of nearby landmarks, transport spots, and event centers.
  • Knows safety steps in case of emergencies.
  • Can spot when something doesn’t look right and reports it quickly.
  • Understands how to handle guest property with care and respect.
