First Abu Dhabi Bank is presently recruiting suitably qualified and skilled candidate for the role of AVP Compliance Global Corporate Finance. The role holder is responsible to manage compliance-related matters for FAB’s Custody business within Global Corporate Finance, FAB’s investment banking arm within its Corporate and Investment Banking portfolio; ensuring that compliance programs are effective with respect to the Custody business in the United Arab Emirates, and across FAB’s Middle East and North African franchises. 

Responsibilities of AVP Compliance Global Corporate Finance

  • To provide compliance advisory support to Custody business management and staff to ensure compliance with prevailing rules, regulations and best practices.
  • Within the GCF Compliance framework, ensure that risks applicable to the Custody business are adequately addressed, in line with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
  • Provide regulatory second line of defence assurance, working with counterparts in all lines of defence to provide an end-to-end oversight mechanism
  • Provide timely compliance advisory and support to the Custody business and with respect to investor services generally.
  • Build and maintain productive business relationships with business partners across the Custody business.

What You’ll Do More?

  • Advise on the rollout and implementation of Group-wide Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide proactive business advice on policy initiatives, projects, new business developments and process improvements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the Custody business for any related matter to Compliance, regulatory matters.
  • Liaise with other Compliance teams, including CIB Compliance colleagues, International Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory. Compliance teams to ensure the business is following the latest regulations and best practice.
  • Maintain and build an effective relationship with the business so that effective and proactive escalation of issues is achieved.
  • Participate in key compliance initiatives and monitor Compliance-related projects for the Custody business.
  • Produce and review relevant MI and information prior to submission to Governance Committees and senior management.
  • Help with any matter related to overall management of the Global Corporate Finance Compliance team.
  • Execute other duties as directed by the GCF Head of Compliance.

Requirements of AVP Compliance Global Corporate Finance

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline.
  • Compliance certifications are considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a reputed bank or any financial institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Compliance, with a demonstrably strong understanding Capital Markets Authority rules pertaining to custody products, as well and the underlying licensing and permissioning required to sell such products.
