Responsibilities of Billing Associate

• Manage and oversee the billing process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for products or services rendered by the hospital.
• Registration of patient to Hospital Information System.
• Daily collect cash from the various cash counters based upon HIS report.
• Preparation of bills and receipt for cheque/ cash received from the patient or Insurance /corporate companies.
• Collect cash/cheque from patients as per the treatment or services provided.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
• Matching of bills (i.e. cheques received from insurance companies, tally the bill wise amount settled & pending claims).
• Greet all incoming patients, confirm about the purpose of their visit and guide them to appropriate individual/department (if required).
• Handle all phone call inquiries from patients related to finances or billing as well as refer calls to appropriate/desired department.
• Participate in hospital training programs.
• Handle all complaints related to billing or finances in a professional manner.
• Perform any other task related to billing or finances as assigned by the Head of Department.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patients information i.e. personal as well as financial and don’t disclose it to any unauthorized person.

Qualification & Experience

Following are the requirements for the role of Associate Billing at Medcare Women and Children Hospital:

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce / accounting  / auditing or a closely related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in similar role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with billing processes, including understanding pricing structures, discounts, and billing cycles.
• Proficiency in using billing software.
• Strong numerical skills to perform calculations, reconcile accounts and manage financial data accurately.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, internal teams & resolve any billing inquiries or discrepancies.
