Assistant Resident Engineer AECOM Abu Dhabi

AECOM is currently looking to hire a candidate for the job role of a Assistant Resident Engineer in Al Karamah Street، International Tower, Capital Centre, Floor,10 Al Karamah St, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 20000-45000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Assistant Resident Engineer

  • Assistant Resident Engineer Roads in performing the contractual duties on site.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer Roads in the management and direction of a team of Highway Engineers and Inspectors for the supervision of the construction of roads.
  • Assists the Resident Engineer Roads in reporting on progress, safety, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications.
  • Builds a trusted relationship with the management team and with the client’s counterpart staff.
  • Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractors.
  • Places an emphasis on safe construction practices and on maintaining a high quality of construction.
  • Leads by example in driving safe practices on site.
  • Assists the Resident Engineer Roads in monitoring the progress of construction against the program and takes steps to ensure the program is achieved.
  • Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the highway supervision works and monitors it for improvement.
  • Cooperates with audits required in accordance with the contract requirements and AECOM’s internal systems.
  • Contributes to the safety and build-ability reviews of the proposed designs.
  • Evaluate, select & adapt construction management and control techniques, procedures & criteria to suit job tasks & devise and implement solutions to problems encountered.
  • Ensures that the Roads Construction Supervision team members effectively identify, manage and report project risks.
  • Act in place of the Resident Engineer when on leave or absent.
  • Coordinate direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.

What you will do more

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements & other activities including correspondence related to the road works. Prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
  • Coordinate with design engineers for the resolution of related issues.
  • Coordinate with the contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
  • Direct, assist & monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records. Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.

Prepare/Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.

  • Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.
  • Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions with respect to road works and associated items.
  • Check and measure the performed work in line of work, record and assist the Resident Engineer to display progress vs. programmed work.
  • Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within line of work.

Requirements for Role of Assistant Resident Engineer

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 15 years experience overall in in construction management, project management, or engineering roles 5 years experience in the UAE is a plus.
