Assistant Professor Cell Biology University of Sharjah

The Department of Applied Biology at UOS has a vacant position at the Assistant Professor Cell Biology starting Fall 2024. The candidate should have a Ph.D. from a reputable academic institution in Biotechnology (Cell Biology/Molecular Biology/Stem Cells) and a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The candidates should have a strong research publication record in peer reviewed journals.  Successful candidates are expected to contribute effectively to teaching different biotechnology courses such as Cell Biology, Stem Cells, Animal Biotechnology, Developmental Biology as well as General Biology, and to contribute effectively to the fourth year graduation projects.

Duties of Assistant Professor Cell Biology

• Contribute effectively to carry out teaching of diverse theoretical and practical biology/biotechnology courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels such as Cell Biology, Stem Cells, Animal Biotechnology, Developmental Biology as well as General Biology.
• Conduct high quality research work in the biotechnology area & contribute effectively to build research groups in biotechnology.
•  Secure external and internal research funds.
• Provide academic and professional advising to students.
• Contribute to curriculum and program development.
• Contribute in the academic assessment processes.
• Contribute to community services​.

Job Requirements of Assistant Professor Cell Biology

• Ph. D in Cell Biology /Stem Cells/ Molecular Biology from a from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in the UAE, with a good track publication record in top journals.​
• Minimum 5 year experience in similar role.
• Teaching experience at University level.
• Postdoctoral research experience is an excess.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Proven record of publications.
• Professionalism in biotechnology and molecular biology techniques.
• Research publications in the fields of Cell Biology, Stem Cells, Molecular Biology.
