About the Role

As Assistant Principal at Al Shohub British School, you will direct and quality assure the activities of staff and students while ensuring a safe, orderly, and smooth-functioning environment conducive to learning. Furthermore, you will support and administer the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team and department leaders. The successful candidate will implement student achievement improvement efforts as outlined in the school development plan and ADEK regulations, including overseeing the MAP and Exact Path student achievement programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and quality assure staff and student activities to ensure a safe learning environment
• Support and administer the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule
• Implement student achievement improvement efforts as mapped out in the school development plan
• Oversee the MAP and Exact Path student achievement plan and progress-based testing schedule
• Establish and oversee processes related to assessment, reporting, data collection, and student records
• Coordinate standardised testing, remediation, and reporting of data as required by ADEK
• Develop special schedules and testing procedures as necessary
• Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team and school department leaders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or BSc degree with PGCE (essential)
• Master’s degree in Education or related field (desirable)
• Minimum of 6 years teaching experience, including 4 consecutive years of exceeding standards
• At least 2 years of experience in a middle leadership role
• Strong knowledge of teaching and learning with a track record of raising standards
• Ability to work with data effectively to diagnose, intervene, and evaluate impact on learning
