Assistant Manager Jumeirah Burj Al Arab Dubai

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager Front Office to join Jumeirah Burj Al Arab in Jumeirah Beach Road, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role holder will be responsible to supervise daily operations, assists in managing staff, handles guest inquiries and issues, and ensures efficient check-in and check-out processes to uphold exceptional guest experiences and maintain high service standards in the hotel’s reception area. This is an Intermediate Level full time job. For this job the salary ranges from 6000-12000 AED/month which may be slightly negotiable during interview process.

Responsibilities of Assistant Manager

  • Conducts the daily briefing on the respective shift and ensure that the department is properly staffed with briefed and well groomed colleagues.
  • Plan the daily operation to ensure guests rooms will be ready and if not that there is a plan for early arrivals, late departures.
  • Attends morning briefing providing leaders and colleagues updated and relevant information in regards to glitches and the daily operation plan.
  • Maintains open line of communication, being the first person to be contact for any guest incidents.
  • Plan, control and maintain overtime, Annual Vacation Plan, Weekly Duty Rosters and special staffing requirements.
  • Manages (monitor and assess) the team performance through role plays and tests based on the departmental SOPs.
  • Ensures that the team adhere to all hotel and company standards, Business conduct and ethics, policies and procedures including Health & Safety policies, punctuality/ attendance procedures and Quality standards.
  • Handling group arrival and assist for their billing.
  • Analyses Mystery Customer information, Profile Quality scores & LQA results, communicates them to the team and develops Corrective Actions, as needed.
  • Dealing with large groups and delegations, arrange their billing and monitor their arrival and departure experience.
  • Check and analyze the rate variance & rate Change reports and ensure room rate is correct.
  • Monitor Guest History scores and improvements and profile quality.
  • Conduct LQA tests.
  • Evaluates operations in order to identify training needs and ensure all the identified training plans are carried out.

Requirements of Assistant Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience as Front Office Assistant Manager or Duty Manager in a 5-star environment.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office, Property Management System (preferably Opera).
  • High level of written and verbal business English and Russian.
  • Additional language would be an advantage.
