Job Description

​The College of Dental Medicine at the University of Sharjah is seeking a well qualified candidate for a full time Assistant/Associate Professor Periodontology. The suitable applicant should have a proven record of undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research, as the College forges a research culture, and aspires to be the leading dental school in the Gulf region. The successful candidate is expected to provide private clinical services in the Centre of Excellence under the governance of University of Sharjah.

Duties of Assistant/Associate Professor Periodontology

  • The selected candidate involved in undergraduate & postgraduate theoretical & clinical teaching of Periodontology & Oral Implantology.
  • The appointee should have a good research record and help contribute to multidisciplinary research in any of the three Research Groups. Groups namely, Wound Healing and Oral Diagnostics, Biomaterials and Biomimetics, and Biofilms in Health and Disease.

Job Requirements of Assistant/Associate Professor Periodontology

  • BDS or DDS, and PhD or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • At least 3 year structured clinical training, Master in Dental Surgery (MDS)/ fellowship or board certification in the area of specialization from a recognized authority.
  • Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical supervision.
  • Clinical experience in advanced periodontal surgery and oral implantology.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Proven record of research.
  • Applicant must hold a valid full dental licence in the area of specialization.
  • Applicant must be eligible for UAE Ministry of Health specialist/consultant dental license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
