About the Role

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance at American University in Dubai will teach undergraduate and MBA-level courses in corporate finance, investments, financial markets, and related disciplines within the School of Business. Furthermore, the successful candidate will maintain an active research agenda with publications in high-quality finance journals. Moreover, the professor will contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and the school’s AACSB accreditation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in corporate finance, investment analysis, financial markets, and financial modeling
• Develop and update course curricula and assessment materials aligned with AACSB standards
• Maintain an active research agenda and publish in top-tier peer-reviewed finance journals
• Support student academic advising and career mentorship in the finance field
• Participate in department meetings, committees, and academic governance activities
• Contribute to program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement processes
• Develop industry partnerships with financial institutions, banks, and investment firms in the UAE
• Promote financial literacy and CFA or CFA-equivalent certification preparation among students
• Lead or support finance competitions, trading simulations, and professional development events

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from a Western accredited institution
• Demonstrated experience teaching finance courses at the university level
• High-quality publications in peer-reviewed finance journals commensurate with rank
• CFA charter or equivalent professional certification is an advantage
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills
• Industry experience in financial services, banking, or investment management is preferred
