The College of Law, University of Sharjah (UoS) is presently hiring suitably qualified candidate for faculty position of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor Criminal Law. The College of Law at UoS would commence its Bachelor’s of Criminal Law degree program with effect from fall 2023. Purpose of Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/ Professor Criminal Law

Mentor/educate students as well as engage in research work to contribute to the advancement of legal knowledge and practice in the field of criminal law.

Job Duties of Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/ Professor Criminal Law

  • Teach assigned classes & achieve learning outcomes as specified by the program.
  • Develop new courses for current offering and potential new degree programs.
  • Actively participate in the intellectual life of a talented, vibrant and unique legal community.
  • Active secure funding to support research programs.
  • Publish in Scopus indexed internationally peer reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the promotion of research link /collaboration between UoS & international institutions.
  • Supervise graduate students theses and dissertations.
  • Advise undergraduate & graduate students on academic and career matters.
  • Provide academic and expert service to the department including but not limited to the preparation or completion of academic accreditation.
  • Deliver stimulating learning experience to students in lectures, seminars & workshops in criminal law.
  • Completion of all the tasks as assigned.​

Qualification & Experience

  • Have a PhD or equivalent (e.g. S.J.D) in Criminal Law from reputed universities in USA, UK, Australia or Canada.
  • Assistant professor, associate professor and professor must have published atleast two, four and six papers in legal journals indexed in Scopus respectively.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching graduate courses and supervision of graduate theses/dissertations in related discipline.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to use education technology.
