Job Description

​The College of Dental Medicine at the University of Sharjah is seeking a well qualified candidate for a full time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Orthodontics. The suitable applicant should have a proven record of postgraduate teaching and research. This job was announced by University on 4 January 2024. Candidate desirous to go for this role should submit their applications now.

Responsibilities of  Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Orthodontics

  • The appointee shall provide didactic and clinical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Orthodontics, continuing development of this discipline in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, as well as supervise scientific projects.
  • The appointee shall contribute to multidisciplinary courses of postgraduate program.
  • The appointee needs to have a strong research background, participate and collaborate in multidisciplinary research in the 3 Research Groups, namely, Wound Healing and Oral Diagnostics, Biomaterials and Biomimetics.
  • Successful candidate expected to provide clinical services in the Centre of Excellence under the governance of University of Sharjah. ​

Job Requirements of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Orthodontics

  • BDS or DDS, and PhD or equivalent doctoral degree.
  • At least  3 year structured clinical training, Master in Dental Surgery (MDS)/ fellowship or board certification in the area of specialization from a recognized authority.
  • Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical supervision.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Proven record of research.
  • Applicant must hold a valid full dental licence in the area of specialization.
  • Applicant must be eligible for UAE Ministry of Health specialist dental license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
