Job Description

The College of Health Science at University of Sharjah is looking to hire suitably skilled and devoted candidate for role of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Nursing. These position is central to the delivery of the Undergraduate program within the Department of Nursing. The individual appointed will join a team of faculty /researchers and provide both width and depth to the team, through teaching excellence and research ability. The individual will be expected to be working with liberal educational methods, including laboratory simulation, and have well developed organizational skills. This job was announced by the University on 7 January 2024. Duties of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Nursing

  • Teaching at the Baccalaureate level in a variety of courses.
  •  Experience with competency based curriculum in teaching and evaluating students.
  • Curriculum refinement and evaluation.
  • Student advising.
  • Research, contributing to the Department’s growing portfolio of grants and publications.
  • Community engagement and participation.​
  • Ability to work effectively with Faculty, Staff, and Students from the diverse cultural background is essential.
  • Teaching clinical supervision with competency based curricula.
  • Candidate must have an adequate research profile.

Job Requirements

The requirements for the job role of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Nursing are as under:

  • Ph.D. degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in academic settings.
  • Experience with program development, program accreditation, online teaching, and simulation. ​
  • Clinical experience of a minimum of 5 years in Nursing.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Eligible for UAE professional nurse licensure.
  • Teaching community health courses would be an asset.
  • Obtaining externally funded grants is desirable.
