Job Description
The College of Fine Arts and Design is seeking a qualified Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to teach full time courses in design studio and related courses in Visual Communication beginning September 2024. The job was announced by the university on February 8, 2024. Candidate desirous for the role should submit their application now.
Duties of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
- Ability to teach design studio and related courses in graphic design and/or multimedia, with a special interest in teaching Branding, Digital Media, Information Design, Wayfinding, Publishing, Typography (Arabic/English) and Web Design courses.
- Strong research and publication or art scholarship.
- Contribution to Fundamentals of Design and Drawing studios.
- Academically advise undergraduate students.
- Engage in Program/Department and College assignments, activities, and events.
- Participate in relevant professional activities to improve teaching and subject matter competence.
- Serve on faculty committees as appointed or elected.
- Lead efforts toward community engagement and other activities as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean.
Job Requirements of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
- Applicants holding PhD/MFA/MDes degree with established record of academic performance and scholarly activities. Preference given to candidates demonstrating.
- At least 5 years full time teaching experience in higher education institutions.
- Effective teaching skills and professional experience.
- Solid experience in teaching and learning media & technology.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Ability to teach art and design survey courses or printmaking studios.
- Good record in research and/or artistic scholarly activities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English).
- Strong interpersonal skills towards effective professor student interactions, both one on one (student interaction) and in group (classroom) sessions.
- Sincere interest in assisting each student within a diverse and multi cultural community to maximize their academic, spiritual and personal potential.
- Team player that is motivated to strengthen and advance the department.
