Responsibilities of Art & Food Technician

• Collecting, checking and returning resources and materials to stores obtaining materials by local purchase.
• Assisting in practical classes as required Managing the Art and Design store room Support with the general tidying up of the classroom.
• Safe disposal of hazardous substances and waste materials.
• Carrying out safety checks on equipment.
• Organising, storing and checking the condition of equipment.
• Keeping up to date with COSHH requirements (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
• Liaise with in house Administration team.
• Liaise with teachers to avoid resource clashes.
• Checking stock (stock control).
• Keeping appropriate stock records.
• Compiling orders and checking deliveries against inventory.
• Liaising and negotiating with suppliers.
• Sourcing and suggesting alternatives items to maintain stock levels.
• Reviewing displays around the school.
• Practical advice on presentation methods for all staff.
• Assisting in Art Department displays.
• Securing display resources.
• Suggesting alternative display solutions.
• Preparation, organisation and display of Art Exhibition or event displays.
• Creation of stage set designs for school events.
• Assisting the set up of student folders.
• Leading support staff in tasks for the Art Department.

Job Requirements

The requirements for the job role of Art & Food Technician  are as under:

• At least High School Diploma.
• 2 year experience in similar role.
