Purpose of an Arabic Teacher
Impart and teach arabic curriculum through innovative and self explanatory teaching methodology.
Job Duties of an Arabic Teacher
- Establish a safe & stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect.
- Accountability of pupils attainment, progress and outcomes.
- Awareness of pupils capabilities and their prior knowledge and plan teaching to build on these.
- Knowledge & understanding of how pupils learn and how this impacts on teaching.
- Sound knowledge of the relevant subject and curriculum areas.
- Foster and maintain pupils interest in the subject and address misunderstandings.
- Critical understanding of developments in the subject and curriculum areas
- Impart knowledge & develop understanding through effective use of lesson time.
- Promote a love of learning and pupil’s intellectual curiosity.
- Set homework when appropriate and plan other out of class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge & understanding pupils have acquired.
- The ability to differentiate appropriately, using approaches that enable pupils to be taught effectively.
- Assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements.
- Make use of formative and summative assessment to secure pupils progress
- Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons.
- Give pupils regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking & encourage pupils to respond positively to feedback.
Education & Experience
- B.Ed. or B. A or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of experience working in an International British Curriculum school is desirable.
- Proficient and experienced in teaching Arabic to Arab students.
Skills Desired
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with the national curriculum for England is desirable.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Classroom and behavior management.
