Job Description

The College of Dentistry, Ajman University, presently has an opening for the position of Adjunct Specialist Instructor in Operative Dentistry starting Spring semester 2023-2024. The job was announced by the university on January 28, 2024. Candidate desirous for the role should submit their application now.

Responsibilities of Adjunct Specialist Instructor

  • Supporting the mission, goals, policies, and activities of the institution.
  • Teaching and training of students and interns within the practical sessions (Clinics and labs) at the institution and in its affiliated hospitals and health facilities.
  • Consulting or engaging in academic activities that enhance scholarship and professionalism within the institution.
  • Adjunct clinical lecturers are expected to help in demonstrations and to provide the course instructor with support in their clinical training and academic activities.
  • Organize and manage instructional resources, course outline, and community networks.
  • Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college focused activities.
  • Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success.
  • Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives in the practical part of the courses.
  • Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning.
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements of Adjunct Specialist Instructor

  • Graduate with a MSc. /Ph.D. from a reputable university.
  • 5 years’ experience with master degree in the field.
  • Experience in dental clinical teaching.
  • Active MOH license if the duty is in the clinics.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with the “Credit Hour” academic system.
  • Ability to supervise student work.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse team members.
