Accounts Receivable Accountant at Ecity Electronics (member of Albatha Group) will be responsible for preparing routine journal entries, reconciliation of daily store sales and cash reconciliation, bank reconciliation, monthly closing activities and balance sheet schedules. Also assistance to the supervisor in carrying out responsibilities of the Accounts department.
Responsibilities of Accounts Receivable Accountant
- To ensure deposit cash collection for daily sales at stores in the bank.
- To ensure that daily cash and card transactions are recorded in the system.
- Reconciliation of daily store sales and cash collection and timely resolution of discrepancy.
- Reconciliation of credit card payments and timely resolution of discrepancy.
- Reconciliation of customer ledgers and timely resolution of discrepancy
- Management of petty cash of all the locations which includes its timely verification, resolution of any discrepancy, recording relevant expenses and reimbursement.
- Reconciliation of trade in partners ledger accounts and resolution of any discrepancy.
- Preparing nontrade purchase orders in SAP.
- Preparing vendor payment.
- Ensure timely preparation and payment of monthly utility invoices.
- Assist supervisor in monthly closing activities e.g. posting of accruals etc.
- Assist supervisor during financial audit activity e.g. preparation of relevant balance sheet schedule etc.
- VAT working and filing.
- Key Performance Indicators: Record daily cash and card transactions in the system without fail.
- Timely notification of any discrepancy found during reconciliations with the relevant person to resolve the matter.
- Cash reimbursement will be made within 5 working days of receipt.
- Timely clearing of open transaction in SAP.
Requirements for Role of Accounts Receivable Accountant
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- ACCA is a plus
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant preferably in retail industry
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in consumer retail electronics.
Skills And Knowledge Desired
- Sound accounting knowledge.
- Power user of SAP FI and SD modules.
- Well versed with MS Excel.
- Good working knowledge of UAE VAT laws
- Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with people to get the job done.
