Job Description
Accounts Receivable Accountant at Albatha Group will be preparing routine journal entries, product pricing update, promotion activation, stores petty cash management, management of brands and suppliers’ claims, general ledger reconciliation, monthly closing activities and balance sheet schedules. Assistance to the supervisor in carrying out responsibilities of the Accounts department.
Roles and Responsibilities of Accounts Receivable Accountant
- To update the product pricing in the system.
- To activate promotions and discount as per the approved schemes in the system.
- To maintain tracker of suppliers and brands promotion deal sheets which includes preparation and verification of claims, sending credit notes to the respective suppliers, follow up on the settlement of claims and reconciliation of unsettled claims.
- Management of petty cash of all the stores and head office which includes its timely verification, resolution of any discrepancy, recording relevant expenses and reimbursement.
- Reconciliation of trade in partners ledger accounts and resolution of any discrepancy.
- Assist supervisor in monthly closing activities e.g. posting of accruals etc.
- Assist supervisor during financial audit activity e.g. preparation of relevant balance sheet schedule etc.
- VAT working and filing.
- Key Performance Indicators:
- Timely update of product pricing and promotion schemes in the system.
- Maintain tracker of brands deals sheets.
- Timely preparation of claims and sharing with the suppliers.
- Follow up for the timely settlement of the claims.
- Petty cash reimbursement should be made within 5 working days of receipt.
Education Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Receivable Accountant preferably in retail industry.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in consumer retail electronics.
- Sound accounting knowledge.
- Power user of SAP FI and SD modules.
- Well versed with MS Excel.
- Good working knowledge of UAE VAT laws.
- Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with people to get the job done.
