Job Description

Star International School Al Twar Dubai (Part of International School of Partnership, ISP) is presently hiring for the job role of an Accountant. The selected candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the financial matters of the school. This job has recently been posted by ISP career page and is inviting applications from all eligible aspirants.

Job Purpose of An Accountant

  • Supports the Finance & Administration Manager in maintaining and enhancing the financial resources by maintaining control over the Trial Balance.
  • Responsible for overseeing the account receivables and payables in the school.
  • Supports the Finance & Administration Manager during audits and preparing month end reports for ISP ME.

Job Duties of An Accountant

  • Review and post entries to record assets, liability, revenue and expenses.
  • Cover duties of Accounts receivables clerk & Accounts Payable clerk during absence.
  • Review all inter company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance.
  • Coordinate annual asset verification program.
  • Update and prepare payroll each month ensuring Paylite system is accurate and ties into payments and Netsuite.
  • Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, providing information for auditors.
  • Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
  • Prepare the month end accounts as per ISP format.
  • Play a senior leadership role in any system updates/migration.
  • Work as a team member sharing expertise, ideas and information
  • Adhoc duties as required by Finance Manager.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years working in school finance.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and programs.
  • Excellent command of MS office.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
  • Records, reports and correspondence by use of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Proficient financial and accounting skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Willing attitude to be a part of school team.
  • Excellent communication skills & command of English language, in spoken and written form.
  • Flexible and work well under pressure.
