Responsibilities of Accountant
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform month end and year end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts and preparing adjusting entries as needed.
- Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist with financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision making by providing timely and accurate financial information.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and controls.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, operations, and human resources, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory agencies regarding financial matters.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements of Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Proven experience of 1-2 years as an Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and reconcile accounts accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
