Responsibilities of Academic Quality Manager

  • Teaching Methods: Collaborate with faculty members to identify and implement innovative teaching methods, incorporating pedagogical philosophies that align with contemporary educational practices.
  • Course Delivery: Provide guidance and resources to enhance course delivery, ensuring faculty members are equipped with effective strategies to engage students and promote a dynamic learning environment.
  • Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control measures for master’s thesis outcomes, undergraduate capstone projects, and internship experiences.
  • Course Assessments: Work closely with faculty to develop precise and effective course assessments (exams) that align seamlessly with course content, learning outcomes, and the UAE Qualification Framework standards.
  • QFE Alignment: Provide comprehensive guidance on the alignment of assessments with specific qualification levels (Level 7 for bachelor’s and Level 9 for master’s) to ensure the academic rigor and appropriateness of evaluation methods.
  • Syllabus Monitoring: Lead a team to monitor the attainment of course syllabi. Ensuring alignment with program objectives and continuous improvement, with a specific focus on blended learning components.
  • Program Assessment: Guide department chairs and program directors in the development and implementation of program assessment reports. Ensuring measurement of program learning outcomes within the context of blended learning.
  • Education Technology: Collaborate with faculty to identify opportunities for integrating educational technology into face to face and virtual learning environments. Enhancing student engagement and overall learning experiences.
  • Blended Learning: Spearhead efforts to integrate and enhance blended learning experiences across academic programs. Also, collaborate with faculty to design, implement, and assess effective blended learning strategies.
  • Faculty Training: Facilitate workshops and training sessions to empower faculty to craft assessments that accurately measure student understanding and contribute to the achievement of program learning outcomes.

Job Requirements of Academic Quality Manager

  • Minimum qualification: Master’s degree in education; PhD in education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in similar role.
  • Substantial teaching experience at the university level.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Proven expertise in quality assurance processes, exam moderation, grade moderation, blended learning strategies, and alignment with the UAE Qualification Framework.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
