Mashreq Bank is presently hiring suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the job role of Unit Manager Corporate Banking. The job holder will be responsible to lead, plan and direct a unit whilst managing credit structuring and portfolio management for complex transactions to ensure achievement of defined profitability targets.

Responsibilities of Unit Manager

  • Contribute towards the development of the divisional strategy and lead the effective implementation of the approved strategies and plans to ensure achievement of business objectives.
  • Manage the effective achievement of the business objectives through the leadership of the unit setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximise divisional performance.
  • Assist the senior management in the consolidation of the unit budget and ensure all operations of the division are in accordance with the approved guidelines.
  • Recommend improvements to divisional policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of the assigned.
  • Manage customer relationships within portfolios of high complexity to maximize customer satisfaction and ensure effective provision of credit services within CAPM strategy and guidelines.
  • Manage a number of industries and/or sectors in which existing clients operate and potential clients reside.

What You’ll Do More?

  • Lead / maintain an understanding of market/economic trends and the effects of socio economic factors on those trends in order to proactively develop appropriate credit rating systems, risk mitigation methodologies and credit proposals.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships / strategic alliances with all relevant external/internal entities (such as key/strategic clients, service providers etc) and all sections with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues to maximise divisional revenues.
  • Negotiate highly complex transactions with client ensuring compliance Bank and Local laws and regulation.
  • Review terms of facility, credit reports and legal documentation of clients invited to participate in the facility.
  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes.
  • Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate MIS statements and reports of the unit to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Requirements of Unit Manager

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or in Accounting.
  • Minimum 10-15 years’ corporate banking experience, including a substantial period of risk management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in corporate relationship management in UAE or the Gulf.

  • In depth understanding of economic conditions within UAE and globally.
  • Expert knowledge of credit proposal processes and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant UAE products/services.
  • Detailed understanding of all relevant Central Bank of UAE regulations.
  • Effective communication skills in Arabic and English languages.
  • Effective client relationship and negotiation skills
  • Effective interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant UAE procedures and policy.
  • Detailed knowledge of competitor products/services.
