Adecco Middle East is looking to hire a Commercial Manager Building/ Construction to provide assistance to the commercial director in controlling and running all commercial aspects in various projects overseeing Commercial management functions including cost management, tender facilitation and evaluation, contract preparation, review and assessments of claims & budget preparation.

Responsibilities of Commercial Manager

  • Commercial management of a variety of building/construction projects across the Middle East region.
  • FIDIC Post contract commercial support, management of bonds, insurances, guarantee logs, interim valuations and payments.
  • Participate in Division, Company, and Corporate strategic planning activities (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, participation in business plan development, etc.).
  • Support for finalization of sub-consultancy agreements, in liaison with legal team.
  • Liaising with PMs and picking up potential VOs and submission of fee proposal and associated documentation.
  • Monitoring all the VOs and liaising with client to get these approved.
  • Supporting PMs for procurement of performance bonds, insurances etc. for the new projects.
  • Handling of post-tender clarifications/tender qualifications, in coordination with PMs, legal and client.
  • Handling of review of new contracts when received from clients and coordinate between client and legal to close the comments.
  • Negotiate for the Consultancy package and ensure amount does not exceed the approved budget.
  • Review the RFP for the Consultancy packages within the time frame shown in the Master Program.
  • Negotiate the Construction packages not to exceed the approved budget.
  • Negotiate the Construction packages within the time shown in the Master Program.
  • Prepare the RFP for Consultancy packages within the time shown in the Master Program.
  • Contract Agreement-Contract Agreement to be issued within 45 days from the date of LOA acceptance.
  • PTC presentation to be prepared within 4 days from reciving the negotiated / final Offer.
  • Prepare, release and receipt of the accepted LOA within 14 days from the approval date.
  • Ensure effective and timely processing of the progress payment to Consultants/ Contractors on a monthly basis, or in accordance with the time specified in the Conditions of Contract.
  • Review various contractual claims and prepare Claim Reports every 28th of every month.

Major Responsibilities of Commercial Manager

Following are the major accountabilities of Commercial Manager:-

Planning

  • Contribute to the development of the Commercial Project Management strategy, policies, systems and processes for executing projects in order to fulfil the Projects Management requirements in line with client’s vision, mission and overall business strategy.

Leading

  • Lead the project commercial cycle comprising the following main steps to achieve projects objectives

Organizing

  • Develop and grow relationships with key customers/ stakeholders & conduct Regular meeting with the team.

Controlling

  • Ensures Team members perform their jobs as per the company policies & rules.
  • Ensure to achieve department standard compliance & target of Internal & External Audits.
  • Ensure the compliance of SAP data management, access rights & Reporting.
  • Ensure that progress of the project is monitored and controlled viz budgeted cost, quality, standards and ensure that project specifications as per approved parameters are met.
  • Identification and management of the commercial related project risks posed by consultants, contractors, delivery, cost of items in order to mitigate risk.

Requirements of Commercial Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
  • 3+years of relevant experience.
