Job Description
Electrical Specialist at Dnata Airline will primarily consist of supporting the dnata sustainable fleet strategy by co-planning infrastructure projects and designs relating to aerodrome charging systems. Candidate will be involved in setting up the full charging environment, from design, installation, commissioning, analysis and change management. Relying on existing skills and knowledge of EV and battery systems to drive effective change management in an operational environment, candidate will set-up and support developments in safety standards and help to upskill the workforce ready for large scale EV fleet deployments.
Responsibilities of Electrical Specialist
- Plan: Identifies training requirements specific to Electric GSE (eGSE) and Electric Vehicles (EV) and works closely with dnata Training to develop an effective training plans to ensure technicians have the correct knowledge and skills required.
- Manages eGSE/EV data logs to understand usage/charging patterns and suggest efficiency improvements to relevant stakeholders.
- Develops and implements battery charging regimes.
- Supports planning in the development of strategic long term fleet management plan for dAO, focusing on fleet changes directly related to eGSE/EV transition, taking into account operational demand and infrastructure availability, makes a plan to identify the ratio of eGSE/EV required when comparing it to conventional GSE.
- Deploy: Supports Engineering team in technical evaluations, investigations and commissioning of eGSE/EV.
- Provide SME guidance related to operations and maintenance of eGSE/EV and associated charging infrastructure.
- Evaluates systems safety, reliability and performance with a focus on electrical systems and provide SME guidance to relevant workshop teams.
- Provides SME support to dnata International Airport Operations (dIAO) related to eGSE/EV as required.
- Lead: Supports in the planning and delivery of the GSE fleet management strategy, with a strong focus on environmentally friendly solutions. This will include technical evaluation and suitability analysis of eGSE/EV assets current and proposed.
- Develops stakeholder understanding of technology and its operation and supports effective change management of operational functions, specifically around additional responsibilities of the end user such as charging management.
- Works closely with dAO Facilities and relevant stakeholders to ensure the deployment of strategic infrastructure projects related to eGSE/EV charging. Acts as SME for electrical related projects, provides guidance and advice to the rest of the dAO project team.

- Researches and keeps up to date with the wider GSE industry to understand new sustainable technologies and recommends their use within dnata where and when appropriate.
- Work closely with training and dTS workshops to develop training resources and support in the delivery of training where necessary.
- Provide subject matter expertise for all dTS maintenance activities relating to complex electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
- Execute: Supports with change management at all levels related to the implementation of eGSE/EV and how these assets should be operated, charged and maintained.
- Supports with educating internal & external stake holders in new and emerging electrical technology related to eGSE/EV, batteries and related systems.
- Ensures compliance to all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Works closely with suppliers, industry contacts, relevant authorities and other stakeholders, to support the implementation of the dAO Fleet Management strategy through new equipment implementation, embracing innovation and new technology with a strong bias towards environmentally friendly solutions, electric equipment, autonomy and robotics.
Requirements for Role of Electrical Specialist
- Bachelors degree or Diploma in Electrical, Engineering or Electronics.
- 6-8 years of experience in the field of maintenance in Ground Handling/Material, Air Cargo Handling/Automotive/ Manufacturing, Automobile Industries with Bachelors degree.
- 8-10 years of experience in the field of maintenance in Ground Handling/Material, Air Cargo Handling/Automotive/ Manufacturing, Automobile Industries with Diploma.
- U.A.E Driving License.
- Knowledge and experience in a maintenance management system especially in material & inventory management.
- Industry experience in various supply chain management is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience working on high voltage and low voltage automotive applications.
- Demonstrable experience of electrical design, including SLD (Single line diagram), Infrastructure and capacity planning.
