Job Description
Planner in Maintenance Planning at GAL will monitor aircraft flow charts with production control and maintenance sections to meet daily, weekly and monthly maintenance planning objectives. Candidate will coordinate with material planning section to ensure that the necessary tools, equipment, POL and aircraft parts are on hand for scheduled inspections. Expedite maintenance and logistics resources when aircraft are in unscheduled maintenance. Also perform trend analysis on spare parts consumption. Coordinate with aviation logistics section and technical follow up regarding the status of ACFT spare parts and equipment. Analyze the flying hour programs, maintenance schedules, environmental conditions, hardware order/delivery schedules and mean time between failure/overhaul of repair parts with material planning to adjust spare parts levels to maintain inventory of (PLL) & TBO parts. Monitor shelf life and high failure rate spare parts and provide recommendations to set/increase stock levels.
Responsibilities
- Ensure parts, tools, equipment and POL is on hand for schedule and unscheduled maintenance.
- Coordinate on a daily basis with maintenance supervisor/team lead to identify aircraft spare parts/tools requirements for current and future maintenance operations and discuss urgent requirements.
- Conduct meetings with material planning and technical follow up for updates on new and repair orders status and discuss all urgent maintenance requirements.
- Identify and create PLL list for new aircrafts in service to ensure meeting schedule maintenance requirements of spare parts.
- Track and plan spares for TBO/SB items for assigned air frame.
- Create part numbers in system, set max/min levels to avoid AOG’s and meet stock/deployment kit safety levels, update when necessary.
- Research and identify new/modification spare parts from the IPC and/or OEM provided materials which will be required in future aircraft maintenance/modifications. Notify material planning section to procure parts/equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance supervisor/team lead to create/update deployment kits and identify requirements to support missions.
- Coordinate with maintenance officer and present final deployment kit list for approval.
- Provide assistance to the material planner in order to achieve and complete the procurement cycle.
- Identify obsolete spare parts in Aviation Logistics stores and research to identify if still applicable to FWG fleet.
- Assist the maintenance planning supervisor to prepare reports requests by planning team lead, aviation logistics manager and customer.
- Conduct maintenance planning section of ACFT log book reconciliation.
- Coordinate deployment requests for parts and equipment with maintenance battalion and aviation logistics section.
Requirements for Role of Planner
- Must have FAA A&P certificate or equivalent with no prior FAR violations.
- Minimum 6 years experience on aviation maintenance and/or Back shops experience on fixed wing aircraft.
- Must have experience in Aviation Maintenance and/or Back Shops experience, with a working knowledge of aviation Supply Chain Management.
- Knowledge and experience in aviation maintenance operations.
- TAMMS-A experience is preferred. Background in military aviation maintenance.
