Job Description

Contractor Electro Technical Officer at Dubai Ports (DP) World will be responsible for new Builds (NB) projects support in terms of design review and NB supervision on site focusing on electrical systems or arrangements, verify required electrical design documentation for NBs, modifications or upgrades/projects. BUs support remotely with electrical issues and faults findings during electrical problems. Periodical BU visits for the inspections of vessels and guidance for electrical issues, systems, spares, maintenance, recommendations for modifications or replacement/upgrades of obsolete equipment and systems. DDs support where required focusing on electrical equipment/systems maintenance. PMS support where required focusing on electrical equipment/systems maintenance.

Responsibilites of Electro Technical Officer

Technical

  • Supervision of all works and activities on site, this includes the supervision of all related works and attendance at inspections and tests of machinery, equipment and systems, sea, and BP trials where applicable.
  • Close liaison with the shipyard, service providers to ensure that their performance is consistent in terms of quality of works and manpower provided.
  • Liaise with P&OML BU Managers/Corporate team, as required regarding vessels specific electrical problems/issues troubleshooting and rectification recommendations remotely and/or during physical attendance.

Reporting

  • Ensure all daily/weekly/final reports and necessary documents are prepared and sent on time, uploaded in the PMS software.

Planned Maintenance System (NSE, other software)

  • As a part of the team and if requested responsible for implementation and usage of NSE Maintenance Modules and works.
  • Participate in periodic review and evaluation of the NSE system to determine that it is being effectively utilized, determine where there are deficiencies and where improvements can be introduced.
  • Responsible for implementing new equipment installations, systems as part of the NSE database.
  • Responsible for accurate records entry into the NSE system works after completion.

Logistics / Procurement

  • Assist to prepare procurement plan for specific spare parts, materials, equipment, services purchased by P&OML and items.
  • Guide the procurement / purchase team to ensure on time and cost-effective purchasing.

Others

  • Provide support to BUs after vessels post-delivery with warranty claims and provide support for any electrical related improvements to equipment and systems if required.
  • Innovate and develop processes / tools to improve productivity and quality.
  • Any other tasks related to the projects which deemed necessary.

QHSE

  • Ensure that the Company’s Safety, quality and environmental management systems are followed and enforced at all times and personally demonstrate and promote a positive safety culture within the organisation.
  • Effective assessment or appraisal of the works and recommendations for improvement if required.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of an Contractor Electro Technical Officer are as under:

  • Bachors degree in electrical engineering or marine engineering.
  • 3-4 years of experience in similar role.
