Job Description

Financial Services industry in Dubai is currently seeking a reliable and customer focused individual to join their team as a Cashier. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient and friendly service at the point of sale.

Responsibilities of Cashier

  • Greet customers warmly as they enter the store and assist them with their purchases.
  • Scan items, process transactions, and handle cash, credit, and debit card payments accurately and efficiently using the point of sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, and that appropriate discounts or promotions are applied to purchases.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including arranging merchandise displays and replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and handling returns or exchanges in accordance with store policies.
  • Balance cash registers and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are reported to management.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers, including assisting with restocking shelves and fulfilling online orders.
  • Follow established procedures for handling voids, refunds, and price adjustments, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Uphold a high standard of security and confidentiality when handling cash and sensitive customer information, adhering to established protocols and best practices.
  • Participate in training programs and staff meetings to stay informed about product updates, sales promotions, and company policies.

Requirements of Cashier

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in retail management or customer service is a plus.
  • Previous experience of 1-2 years as a cashier or in a customer facing role preferred but not required; on the job training will be provided.

Skills

  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately handle cash transactions and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using electronic cash registers, POS systems, and other retail technology.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet customer needs and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on store hours and scheduling requirements.
