Responsibilities of An Engineering Coordinator
Technical
- Change Management (Design Change Notices): Ensure any potential changes and variations are managed in a timely manner with the clients approval and to the approved process. In addition, Identify technical trends that can impact the project schedule in coordination with discipline leads, record and assess impact.
- Risk Management: Technical risks to be identified, assessed and registered with appropriate mitigation measures identified in coordination with discipline leads.
- Interface Management: To drive interface management, liaising with the Client’s engineering, operations and maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
- Design Assurance: Oversee the IDC process across disciplines and ensure is being done in a timely manner.
- Design Assurance: Coordinate closure of technical holds in engineering documentation.
- Design Integrity: Coordinate the closure of technical safety actions
- Technical Advice: Provide process discipline advise / support to wood process Lead as required.
- Construction Support: Support the shutdown team in defining the most effective shutdown philosophy in coordination with Process Leads.
- Commissioning Support: Provide support to the commissioning team in defining commissioning boundaries and philosophies.
- Value Engineering: Identify and communicate value added improvements that can be made in the design.
- Design Reviews: Facilitate multidiscipline technical reviews on the project.
- Technical Administration: Support the engineering manager across all the technical and administrative duties carried out on a day-to-day basis with a view to improving the efficiency of delivery. Scope out any potential new work scopes requested by client.
Delivery
- Coordinate the delivery of any future minor engineering work.
- Support the engineering manager in delivering the engineering scope.
- Process discipline support in the preparation of TQs by each discipline.
- Help coordinate review and closure of supplier documentation in conjunction with package engineers.
- Provide support to engineering disciplines on MDR development / progress updates.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of an Engineering Coordinator are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrument or Process Discipline.
- Membership of a recognised professional institute preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum of 5 years proven capability in an engineering design company.
- Experience with company business management system and quality assurance processes.
- Experience of the application of HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating to Engineering Design.
- Experience with concept selection and FEED studies.
- Demonstrated experience and previous track record in a similar role
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is preferable.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of engineering design and project delivery.
- Awareness of relevant international codes and standards.
