Job Description

Al Tayer Group is currently looking for a Project Coordinator to join their Visual Merchandising Beauty team who will be responsible to plan and manage the execution of retail or building projects of the Group from inception to completion by effectively managing Clients, Principals and contractors, materials procurement and all applicable/ available resources to ensure completion of the projects within the agreed specification/ quality standards, budgets and timelines so as to meet clients BU communicated objectives.

Responsibilities of Project Coordinator

  • Prepare and support the project execution planner in consultation with Business, Design and the Brands to accomplish its objectives within constraints of time, quality and approved budgets.
  • Implement Work in accordance with the approved procedures for tendering, selection and appointment of contractors, payment terms, dealings, and communication between all parties clients, architects, consultants and contractors, and redresses of issues for effective coordination and collaboration.
  • Track project strategic program detailing through development and share of key milestones including concept and detail design delivery, procurement of direct supply items, contractor‘s scope of work extending to construction period and handover date to the Client, with support from Project Delivery Manager Beauty.
  • Manage the design to site to execution process for the project ensuring the agreed design milestone deliverables are met in accordance with the project program.
  • Review and approve the drawings submitted by Brand Architects – Retail Partners and appointed – contractors.
  • Coordinate with Consultants and contractors on all issues pertaining to drawings, programs, schedules and ensure timely resolution of all issues.
  • Also monitor progress against the project program and keep the Management updated on project progress through clear and transparent communication.

What You’ll Do More?

  • Manage all aspects of the individual project requirements to ensure contract deliverables are adequately addressed and closed out at project completion.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure that the materials meet all client specifications.
  • Coordinate with all concerned to ensure adherence to quality, health and safety regulations, through site, Factory and Warehouse visits.
  • Prepare and update the store tracking report on a weekly basis to reflect the progress of store delivery and roll out.
  • Flag any risk to all concerned and initiate remedial action to ensure execution of project as scheduled.
  • Attend site progress meets and carry out final inspection, prepare a snag list along with Brand Partners -Operations ATG teams
  • Ensure all assets are tagged as per agreed processes.
  • Ensure all learning’s are captured post completion of each project reports are updated and circulated as required/requested.
  • Manage defect liability as per agreed process.
  • Manage projects (opening/closures) kick offs.
  • Ensure a self-starting attitude and good communication skills with a sense of confidence in the delivery of each project awarded.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a Project Coordinator are as under:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification relevant to construction project management.
  • 3-5 year’s work experience in retail construction industry with latter years in a responsible project management position.

Skills Desired

  • Proficiency in use of Project Tracking tools, photoshop and the Adobe Suite and other Architectural programs will be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proven planning, organizing and project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid relationship management skills.
