Duties of Chartering Maritime Cluster Manager
- Responsible for the marketing and business development of chartering business which include actively negotiating and booking vessels and cargoes, handling charter and tender agreements, vessel and scenario planning and ensuring close coordination with the operations team on voyage execution.
- Must have understanding of stowage and carriage requirements of CPP / DPP.
- Preparation of various CP agreements on behalf of clients or traders.
- Negotiations of rates and terms & conditions with shipowners and brokers.
- Handling pre-fixture matters including coordination on technical clearance with vessel’s owners and cargo/trading operator.
- Develop and implement marketing and chartering strategies to provide integrated services to meet client’s requirements.
- Monitor market conditions and chartering rates in the industry and reporting of major contracts and outcomes of tender awards.
- Negotiate rates and terms with shipowners and brokers.
- Developing and implementing chartering strategies.
- Reporting on chartering activities to senior management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry players.
- Monitor the tanker market and identify opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a Chartering, Safeen Feeders, Maritime Cluster Manager are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in shipping, business, or a related field.
- 5+ Years in Tanker and/or Dry bulk Chartering Business.
- 5 year in Marine industry.
- Experience in both crude and clean products chartering.
- Experience in spot and time chartering.
- Experience in negotiating with ship-owners, brokers, cargo-owners and charterers.
- Experience in managing the chartering process from start to finish.
Skills Desired
- Strong understanding of the tanker market.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of shipping software (IMOS, etc.).
- English (fluent spoken and written).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
