Stantec is currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC) to join their dynamic team and support a large office building complex projects. This project will have related functional and supporting facility buildings in Dubai. This is a mid level full time. For this position salary can range between 10000 to 20000 AED/month. Duties of A Mechanical Design Engineer
- Responsible for the HVAC engineering design of air distribution and piping systems, to include specialty mechanical systems for new and renovated buildings.
- Prepare the design of the HVAC piping and air side systems to include the completion of code reviews, preparation of the basis of design, system calculations
- Preparation of Revit CAD drawings, specification preparation, field investigations, and other such design as required to execute the HVAC construction for new or renovated buildings.
- Works under the direct supervision of the Senior Engineer and is accountable for specific discipline designer activities assigned to them.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a Mechanical Design Engineer are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of Middle East experience working within an International Design Firm, with a focus on Building Services Design.
- Experience with HAP/ Trace/Hevacomp cooling load calculation software.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and proper drafting methods and techniques.
Knowledge & Skills Desired
- Have good knowledge and expertise in HVAC and Plumbing systems design.
- Ability to do the various HVAC related engineering tasks through a combination of drafting and engineering (performing building cooling demand load calculations, reviewing different HVAC design approaches, sizing equipment, and reviewing building energy consumption characteristics).
- Understanding of standard industry software.
- Coordinating of the Engineering work between other members of the Building Services and Architectural teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
