Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Interior Design University of Sharjah

The College of Fine Arts and Design is seeking a qualified Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to teach full time courses in design studio and related courses in Visual Communication beginning September 2024. Duties of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

• Ability to teach design studio and related courses in graphic design and/or multimedia, with a special interest in teaching Branding, Digital Media, Information Design, Wayfinding, Publishing, Typography (Arabic/English) and Web Design courses.
• Strong research and publication or art scholarship.
• Contribution to Fundamentals of Design and Drawing studios.
• Academically advise undergraduate students.
• Engage in Program/Department and College assignments, activities, and events.
• Participate in relevant professional activities to improve teaching and subject matter competence.
• Serve on faculty committees as appointed or elected.
• Lead efforts toward community engagement and other activities as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean.

Job Requirements of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

• Applicants holding PhD/MFA/MDes degree with established record of academic performance and scholarly activities. Preference given to candidates demonstrating.
• At least 5 years full time teaching experience in higher education institutions.
• Effective teaching skills and professional experience.
• Solid experience in teaching and learning media & technology.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Ability to teach art and design survey courses or printmaking studios.
• Good record in research and/or artistic scholarly activities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English).
• Strong interpersonal skills towards effective professor student interactions, both one on one (student interaction) and in group (classroom) sessions.
• Sincere interest in assisting each student within a diverse and multi cultural community to maximize their academic, spiritual and personal potential.
• Team player that is motivated to strengthen and advance the department.
