NMC Healthcare is currently looking to hire a candidate for the job role of a Registered Nurse in IICU at Bareen International Hospital, MBZC, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 5000-9000 AED/month.
Responsibilities of Registered Nurse
- To support the Lead Nurse in achieving clinical objectives and in maintaining the highest standards of care throughout the Nursing Function.
- To ensure the highest standard of care is given to all patients in their care, always maintaining patient confidentiality.
- To provide expert specialist advice and support to patients following diagnosis and throughout their treatment.
- To adhere to the working practices within Bareen facility.
- To undergo and actively participate in personal performance appraisals and competency reviews in accordance with Bareen Policies.
- To ensure information given to patients, relatives, visitors, and other staff is consistent with NMCRHMBZ policies and procedures.
- To provide support to the medical department.
- To actively participate in the introduction of agreed new changes / systems within Bareen facility.
- Participates in and maintains specifics audits and other data
- Participates in staff meeting / special projects and committees when required
- Coordinates and manages patients efficiently
- Demonstrate co-ordination, co-operation and respect among departments, staff, and patients to provide excellent customer service.
- Collaborates effectively with the multidisciplinary team
- Prioritize workload according to the need of the patient and workflow.
- To assist with the day-to-day management of clinical activity in all areas of the Nursing Function ensuring appropriate input to patient’s treatment with awareness of staffing levels and skill mix.
- To recognize the skills required to lead a small team within the clinical environment.
- To take some responsibility for the development of a specific task or project, this may be allocated within the role, dependent on skills and experience.

ICU Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining care standards in the ICU department.
- Able to assess patients quickly, prioritize, and assist in minor procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests.
- Conduct follow up visits and patient treatment.
- Communicate with doctors and patients to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations.
- Monitoring patient recovery and care.
- Demonstration of sound decision-making in emergency scenarios based on patient conditions such as vital signs, patient presentation, and assessments.
- Provide RN care for all patients, as well as handling of intubations, defibrillations, auto transfusions, and more.
- Assesses, utilizing age specific data, the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status in a comprehensive manner.
- Demonstrates accurate assessment skills, appropriate to the age of the patient, based on scientific facts and principles.
- Performs initial assessment and completes required documentation within organizational standards.
- Performs and documents ongoing assessments including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention.
- Participates in the identification and clarification of patient needs, as evidenced by participation in multidisciplinary care planning, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Assists other staff in the delivery of patient care, as appropriate.
- Incorporates patient teaching/discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
- Assisting the ICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments.
- Using and adjusting specialized medical equipment.
- Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.
- Comforting anxious patients and family members.

- To perform clinical tasks within own areas of expertise and experience.
- To ensure all care is given in accordance with agreed NMCRHMBZ Policies (Policies).
- To maintain accurate and legible patient treatment records.
- To be responsible for maintaining full registration with DOH/DHA licensing authority and home country of license.
- To maintain own personal and professional development in accordance with DOH/DHA annual CME points as required.
- Attend mandatory study / training sessions and maintain training records file.
- To provide expert specialist advice and support to patients following diagnosis and throughout their treatment.
- To undergo and actively participate in personal performance appraisals and competency reviews in accordance with BAREEN policy.
- To ensure that all equipment is adequately maintained and that any anomalies are reported immediately to the Lead Nurse and relevant department for correction
- To develop appropriate autonomy for decision making within the parameters of approved procedures, with guidance from senior staff.
- To assist in ensuring that the relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to within NMCRHMBZ.
- To assist in ensuring adequate staffing levels are always maintained within the department.
- Functional Knowledge/Expertise: To read and apply all appropriate Bareen’s Policies.
- To develop a good understanding of issues facing patients undergoing treatment and the role of the practitioner during these treatments.
- To develop a sound understanding of Bareen’s database system and electronic clinical documentation.
- To keep up to date with current literature and research in the specialty.
- To develop an understanding of the different treatments available at NMCRHMBZ.
- To maintain a safe clean working environment
- Assist in the development and implementation of Infection Control Policies within the department.
Requirements for Role of Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited university.
- Registered Nurse, (DOH) Licensed.
- Registered Nurse, valid license in the country of origin.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and any other advanced Life support trainings, and unit specific training relevant to the area of specialty.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience post-graduation.
Skills And Knowledge Desired
Knowledge of relevant anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based practices.
