Job Description
Grand Mercure Hotel and Residences Dubai Airport is looking to hire suitably skilled and devoted candidate for role of Sales Manager. The role holder is responsible to lead and manage the sales team at Accor Hotels UAE, driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives and fostering relationships with new and existing clients.
Responsibilities of Sales Manager
- Develop strong, secure and productive business relations with all companies within portfolio under the geographic / market segment allocated.
- Maximize occupancy and average rate of hotel through creative and selective selling.
- Service needs of customers by attending to all requests promptly and efficiently within 24 hours.
- Participate in hotel activities including promotions, sales blitzes, entertainment and other operational areas as directed.
- Pursue new market segments to secure sales and prepare proposals for consideration
- Be totally familiar with hotel products, rates, and promotions at all times.
- Prospect new customers and manage/develop existing ones with effective multi-department selling.
- Provide ongoing market intelligence by monitoring business sources and segments.
- Maintain up to date understanding of company products and rates and involvement in cross selling of these when required.
- Be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of all competing hotel and restaurant products and provide weekly regular updates after visiting competition hotels allocated for tracking purposes.
- Represent hotel at functions and other related events as directed.
- Positively communicate the hotel image to existing and potential customer at all times.
- Ensure that revenues and / or cost controls are maximize through proactive actions rather than reactive management.
- Report on trends in the industry and local markets.
- Maintain a calendar allowing you to meet all established deadlines and planned sales trips.
- Maintain accurate information on all new and on-going leads and accounts, including solicitation efforts.
- Establishes and sign contracts considering the official Rate Policy in co-ordination with the DOSM.
- Special deals (out of guidelines and rate policy) must in any case be discussed, co-ordinated and approved prior to offer with the hotel’s management.
What You’ll Do More?
- Ensure that targets set by the hotel are met consistently.
- Thoroughly familiarizes oneself with the Hotel’s emergency procedures and is in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
- Be familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Perform duties in a manner that respects company values.
- Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings if required.
- Carry out any other reasonable task (which may not be state here) as request.
- To ensure that all credit, billing and collection procedures that have been established by the hotel are implemented following the Credit Policies and Procedures.
- To ensure implementation of correct booking and filing procedures, including group room and meeting program history, Catering set up and themes, contractual agreements etc.
- To ensure that all sales contracts follow the established Hotel Policies & Procedures and are based and sound commercial judgment.
- To define and target key accounts and develop effective solicitation.
- To review all blocked rooms and meeting space of his assign portfolio on weekly basis to ensure that all business is trace for confirmation.
- To ensure a high level of exposure for the hotel through direct sales solicitation.
- To review sales files to ensure correct booking procedures, including history, contract, and room block
- To ensure that sales team project a warm, professional and welcoming image.
- To be demanding and critical when it comes to departmental standards.
- To ensure that all Departmental SOPs are update.
- To ensure that up to date Opera/Anais records of all corporate and group accounts and sales activities.
- To ensure that all meetings are well planned, efficient and results oriented.
Requirements of Sales Manager
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality management.
- Minimum 2 years’ of similar experience in a 5 star hotel or resort in Dubai.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
