Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Director Social Media to join Jumeirah Group & Corporate. The selected candidate will be responsible to oversee the development and implementation of social media strategies across the hotel group, enhancing brand presence, engaging with audiences, and supporting marketing and promotional efforts to drive business goals and enhance the company’s digital footprint.
Responsibilities of Director Social Media
- Develop and lead the overarching social media strategy that aligns with the luxury positioning of Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts and supports business objectives.
- Collaborate with hotel marketing teams and PR departments to ensure seamless integration of social media initiatives with broader marketing efforts.
- Own and manage the relationship with external agencies responsible for social planning, content production, publishing, account management, reporting, and governance ensuring alignment with brand guidelines, campaign objectives, and performance expectations, while fostering a collaborative partnership.
- Drive the agency to meet or exceed business KPIs, translating strategic goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Continuously explore and integrate innovative social media practices and emerging platforms to maintain the brand’s leadership in the luxury hospitality space.
- Uphold brand guidelines and standards across all social media content, ensuring a consistent and premium brand experience.
- Mentor and guide colleagues within the social media team, fostering professional growth and excellence.
- Analyse social media performance data, derive actionable insights, and implement strategies to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
- Identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration between social media efforts and other departments, enhancing overall effectiveness.
- Develop and implement protocols for managing potential social media crises and effectively address any issues that may arise.
- Oversee the reporting mechanisms and governance structure related to social media activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to align social media efforts with revenue generation goals, leveraging the platform to drive bookings and conversions.
Requirements of Director Social Media
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or relevant field from an accredited and renowned University.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in social media management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or directorial capacity.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Strong understanding of luxury brand positioning and the ability to translate brand essence into compelling social media strategies.
- Exceptional understanding of the social media landscape, trends and best practice.
- Track record of successfully developing and implementing social media strategies that drive engagement, brand elevation, revenue growth, and commercial success.
- Deep understanding of audience segmentation, targeting, and data-driven decision-making.
