Job Description

NMC Healthcare is presently looking to hire qualified and experienced candidates for the job position of a Pharmacist. The selected aspirant will work at NMC Speciality Hospital located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This job was published by NMC on 19 October 2023 and is now accepting applications from all eligible aspirants.

Job Purpose of A Pharmacist

Assures the appropriate control, security, prescribing, preparation, dispensing and utilization of pharmaceuticals in hospital.

Duties of A Pharmacist

  • Supervises the activities of Pharmacy support personnel related to the timely and accurate Preparation, processing, and delivery of medication orders.
  • Checks final processed orders and approves for delivery or release.
  • Verifies all products prepared and source containers and amounts used for accuracy Maintains control and security of all drugs.
  • Reviews, interprets, clarifies, enters, and verifies patients’ information and medication orders for processing within all hospital and pharmacy computer systems.
  • Advises prescribers of medication related issues and recommends alternate medications.
  • Interacts routinely with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to provide optimal pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Provides general and patient specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other Health care professionals.
  • Helps monitor pharmaceutical and other established indicators to ensure ongoing quality assurance.
  • Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance to all laws, circulars and regulations related to the pharmacy profession.
  • Carries out any other assignment by Head Pharmacist.

Education & Experience

  • Successfully completed and holds an accredited recognized B.Sc in Pharmacy.
  • 2 years of experience in acute care facility.

Knowledge and Skills Desired

  • Proficient technology application skills, basic MS Office (Word, Excel, & Power point) MS Outlook & Internet explorer skills.
  • Must have an exceptional interpersonal skills, maturity, good judgment and be capable of communicating in a professional manner with diverse range of individuals.
  • Superior phone etiquette skills
  • Patient focused, service oriented, patient & understanding.
  • Efficient organizational skills, ability to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure while maintaining composure.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, punctual, dependable, and responsive.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic language desirable but not essential.
