Responsibilities of Audio Visual Technician
AV System Installation and Configuration:
- Install, configure, and calibrate audio visual equipment, including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing systems.
- Set up and test integrated AV systems to ensure proper functionality.
Event Support:
- Provide on site support for events, conferences, and meetings requiring AV equipment.
- Collaborate with event organizers to understand technical requirements and deliver seamless AV solutions.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment and systems promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of AV hardware.
System Integration:
- Integrate AV systems with other technology components, such as control systems, lighting, and room automation.
- Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to ensure seamless integration with network infrastructure.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain accurate documentation of AV system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and inventory.
- Provide training to end users on the proper operation of AV equipment.
Quality Control of Audio Visual Technician:
- Conduct quality checks on newly installed AV systems to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades.
Collaboration of Audio Visual Technician:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate the procurement and installation of AV equipment.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their AV requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during the installation and maintenance of AV equipment.
- Ensure that all AV installations comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
Job Requirements of Audio Visual Technician
- Associate’s degree or certification in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 year experience in similar role.
- Proven experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AV systems.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Knowledge of audio and video signal flow, control systems, and networking in the context of AV integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards, protocols, and best practices.
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Industry certifications are a plus.
